Millenials Most Likely To Indulge in Hotel Luxury Services

It seems like everywhere you go today, and everyone you talk to, it’s one common theme: “millenials are the future,” or “we’re starting to cater to generation X and Y.” Well, if you haven’t gotten on board yet, you really should start thinking about it. All signs are pointing to the next generation—the one no one pays too much attention to—taking over the marketplace. Born and raised in a time where instant gratification isn’t even enough, with a plethora of options that can be compared and contrasted in a matter of minutes right at their fingertips, it is becoming more and more difficult to accommodate this age group.

A survey released by Chase Card Services is now saying that millenials are more likely than older age groups to seek out hotel options that offer luxury services. According to an article written by Hotel Business, 32% of this group looks for hotels that offer dry cleaning services, 30% would like spa and/or massage services, 23% would like a hotel that is pet-friendly, and 19% say that it’s a deal-breaker if they are not near any public transportation options. Also, compared to older travelers, 48% of millenials say that indulging in luxury services describes their attitude toward staying in hotels (72% of 50-67 year olds say that they like to keep within a budget).

So, if you have not yet, it might be time to start considering updating some facilities and amenities of your property to fit the next generation of travelers, who are willing to spend more money than their parents.
