1. Multi-Room Renovation

The Project: A multi-room home rehab for a Chicago-area family

The Challenge: When Melissa, her husband, Bill and their small children inherited a house from Melissa's parents, they knew from the get-go it wasn't an optimal space for a young, growing family. The rooms were small and dark, and quality, well-designed living space was at a premium. Worst of all, an impractical, attached garage dominated a large portion of the home's square footagse.

The Response: Based on extensive input from the family, Cicero's Development Corporation incorporated the garage into the home's living space, allowing for rooms to be enlarged as well as the addition of a bedroom and rec room. The living room was expanded and the kitchen was entirely rehabbed, allowing for more cooking space and more light, as well as much-needed sight lines into the rec room.

2. Historic Home Rehabilitation

The Project: An extensive rehabilitation of an historic home in suburban Chicago

The Challenge: Like many owners of vintage properties, David and his family loved the charm of their home but found its functionality lacking. Rooms were small, giving the house a chopped up feel and limiting quality living space. The kitchen was impractical. And light coming through the old windows was at a premium. Despite a background in the construction business, David knew his vision for what the house could be exceeded his ability to bring it to life.

The Response: Working with David and his family, Cicero’s Development Corporation began by obtaining the many permits necessary to rehab an old, historic property. Then, we went to work, opening up the floor plan, increasing the size of the existing rooms and even building an entirely new family room. A bedroom was added, the kitchen was entirely transformed and the windows were replaced to give the home a brighter, airier feel.

3. Multi-Room Rehabilitation

The Project: A multi-room home rehab in the Chicago area

The Challenge: Laurie and her family found that, due to its age, their home didn't offer optimal living space. The upstairs was poorly configured, closets were inadequate, living and family rooms were dated and original windows needed to be replaced.

The Response: Working with the owners, Cicero's rehabbed much of the house, making more creative use of the space. A closet was taken out to expand the upstairs bathroom, the living and family rooms were brought up to date and new windows were put in to make better use of existing light.
